We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Latoya Bolton as Ember Connect’s inaugural Chief Executive Officer.
Latoya is a proud Noongar/Yamatji woman with more than 20 years of experience across government and non-government sectors, particularly in education, community development and supporting stronger outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Her appointment marks a significant milestone for Ember Connect as we move into our next phase of growth.
Since launching in 2022, Ember Connect has grown into a national digital community of more than 5,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and 1,100 allies. Through our digital platform, programs, events, grants, mentoring and partnerships, we support First Nations women to connect, grow and access opportunities across career, business, culture and life.
Ember Connect Chair Eve Howell said Latoya’s appointment comes at an important time for the organisation.
“Latoya brings the experience, values and leadership needed to help guide Ember Connect through this next stage. Her background in education and community development aligns strongly with our focus on creating practical pathways and opportunities for First Nations women across Australia,” Eve said.
As we enter our next phase, Latoya will help lead our work to grow our national membership, with a particular focus on younger First Nations women. She will also support our work to strengthen career, enterprise and mentoring pathways, and amplify the voices and experiences of First Nations women across Australia.
