Round 1 Recipients

A fashion designer, an iron woman and a trauma therapist are among the recipients of Ember Connect’s first round of Game Changer Grants for 2024.

Ember Connect received 91 applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women seeking financial support across a variety of professional, cultural and personal enrichment activities.

Five Aboriginal women from around Australia – two from Western Australia, two from Queensland and one from Victoria – have been announced as the R1 recipients, sharing $15,000 in funding between them.

Round 2 Recipients

Congratulations Taleesha Davis, Keshi Moore and Maggie Blanden on being named Round 2 recipients of our Game Changer Grants! 

Wamba Wamba woman Taleesha Davis received a $5,000 Game Changer grant towards her small business Lash and Beauty by Taleesha. Taleesha will use the funding to undertake specialist training and expand her services, supporting her to build a sustainable business. 

Banjima woman Keshi Moore and Palawa woman Maggie Blanden received a $5,000 Game Changer Grant to support their co-founded initiative, Naarm Law Students. Keshi and Maggie are recent graduates of Melbourne Law School and established Naarm Law Students to provide free community legal education to young people.

Round 3

Applications for our third and final round for 2024 opened on Monday 21 October and closed on Friday 8 November. 

Round 3 was a general round, with funding available for any professional, personal or cultural enrichment activities. 

Recipients will be announced in early December 2024.
